Derek Taylor Stroud Fascias
Wooden Fascias need to be kept in good condition. This means they must be painted or stained usually every 5 to 10 years to prevent water damage from the rain which then leads to weather damage and rot. The issues with this are access and the cost of maintaining the wooden fascia boards. Depending on the age and style of your property you may well prefer to keep with wooden fascia boards and barge boards. You may have a period property or a property which is listed. On more modern propertys how ever you may think it is best to replace or cap the fascia boards which will then reduce if not eliminate the need for regular maintenance.
Pvc fascia, Barge boards, soffits and cladding come in a geriatric of colours and styles. From the more common white to versions of other colours including Anthasit which has been very popular over the last couple of years on new build, renovations and people just wanting to make their property stand out. Along with replacement and capping fascia boards, we also specialise in replacement guttering systems. These also come in different profiles such as half round, square and a larger capacity Ogee. As with the Fascias, soffits and cladding the guttering comes in a number of different colours.
The more standard white and black plus the modern Anthracite and a few other colours are available on request. If you have leaking cast iron, asbestos or Plastic guttering over 20 years of age we suggest replacing the system with new. This is because with plastic guttering the seals wear with time and eventually fail. This can lead to dampness and water damage is left unchecked over a period of time. We provide quality products supplied locally from a merchant we have been dealing with for around 20 years. Sometimes the guttering system requires extra downpipes to help cope with the volume of rainwater in bad weather. If this is possible we can advise this when providing a quote for a new gutter system.
